After losing my dad, all I wanted to know was that he is ok. I prayed for signs. I held on to whatever I could because I was afraid that either he will forget me or he will think that I forgot about him. I can never forget about my dad, everyone keeps telling me that I need to let him go, that if I continue crying, he will be miserable and he won't be happy in his next life. But this is my dad, how can I accept that he is not here, how can I pretend that I'm ok and let him live his life. My dad should still be here with us. The only thing that I can do on a daily basis is light a candle for him every night and say a few prayers. I found this amazing website which has helped me pray for him. I can only hope that God hear my prayers and take care of my dad and keep him safe and loved until I see him again.

DAILY PRAYERS FOR MY DAD
DE PROFUNDIS
Out of the depths I have cried to Thee, O Lord; Lord, hear my voice.
Let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.

Almighty Father, eternal God, hear our prayers for Your son Ronald whom You have called from this life to Yourself. Grant him light, happiness, and peace. Let him pass in safety through the gates of death, and live forever with all Your saints in the light You promised to Abraham and to all his descendants in faith. Guard him from all harm and on that great day of resurrection and reward raise him up with all Your saints. Pardon his sins and give him eternal life in Your kingdom. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
For a Particular Soul
Almighty Eternal God, in Your fatherly goodness, be kind to the soul of Your servant, Ronald. Cleanse him whom You have called from this world of all his faults, take him into the Realm of Light and Peace and into the Community of Your Saints, and give him his share of Eternal Delight in Your Kingdom. God, You Creator and Saviour of all the faithful, forgive all the sins of all Your servants' souls. Let them receive forgiveness through our pious prayer, for which they have always been yearning. For this we pray through Jesus, Our Lord. Amen.
O Lord, You always love to distribute Mercy and Graces. For this reason, I never cease asking of You to think of the souls of Your servants whom You have taken from this world. Do not leave them under the power of the enemy and do not ever forget them. Order Your Holy Angels to take and lead them to their heavenly home. They hoped for You, they believed in You. So do not let them endure the punishments of Purgatory, but let them have the Eternal Joys. Through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
God of faithfulness, in Your wisdom You have called Your servant Ronald out of this world; release him from the bonds of sin, and welcome him into Your Presence, so the he may enjoy eternal light and peace and be raised up in glory with all Your saints. Amen.
Lord our God, the death of Ronald recalls our human condition and the brevity of our lives on earth. But for those who believe in Your love, death is not the end, nor does it destroy the bonds that You forge in our lives. We share the faith of Your Son's disciples and the hope of the children of God. Bring the light of Christ's resurrection to this time of testing and pain as we pray for Ronald and for those who love him/her, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

God of our ancestors in faith, by the covenant made on Mount Sinai You taught Your people to strengthen the bonds of family through faith, honor, and love. Look kindly upon Ronald, a father who sought to bind his children to You. Bring him to Your heavenly home where the saints dwell in blessedness and peace. Amen.

Lord God, You commanded us to honor our parents. Kindly have mercy toward the souls of my father; forgive him his sins and allow me to see him again in the joy of Eternal Light! Through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
For One Who Died After a Long Illness
Most faithful God, lively is the courage of those who hope in You. Your servant Ronald suffered greatly, but placed his trust in Your mercy. Confident that the petition of those who mourn pierces the clouds and finds an answer, we beg You, give rest to Ronald. Do not remember his sins, but look upon his sufferings and grant him refreshment, light, and peace. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
For One Who Died Suddenly
Lord, as we mourn the sudden death of Ronald, show us the immense power of Your goodness and strengthen our belief that he has entered into Your Presence. Amen.
For One Who Died Accidentally or Violently
Lord our God, You are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Ronald was suddenly taken from us. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family and friends by the power and protection of the cross. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
For Departed Loved Ones
O Almighty God, Who by the love which You have for men, have willed to take our humanity, to live a life of hard work, to suffer a most cruel Passion, and finally to die on the Cross, I beseech You, by the infinite merits purchased for us with Your Precious Blood, look mercifully on the suffering which is endured by the holy souls in Purgatory. Accept, O merciful God, the prayers which I offer for them, and call them to the glory of heaven. I recommend to You the souls of my relatives, friends, and benefactors, and in a special manner of those to whom I may have been an occasion of sin by my bad example.
Most Holy Virgin, Mother of Mercy, Comforter of the Afflicted, intercede for those souls, that, by your powerful intercession, they may be admitted to enjoy that kingdom which is prepared for them. Amen.
